Hi all, new here and looking for some info on Hopscotch hill dolls. I got my daughter 2 on the clearance at AG site for her 5th birthday. I thought they would be "test" dolls to see if she was ready for AG 18 inch ones. Well her brithday isn't until next month, but I broke down and gave her Hallie already (I bought one for her cousin's who's birthday is next week and I couldn't give her cousin one 1st.)

Anyway she LOVES it. Loves it, loves it loves it. I got her almost all of the stuff that is still for sale on the site, but am having problems finding cothes for the dolls. I hate ebay, tried to bid on a dress up chest and last min my bid got went 5 times what I had put in for it. I give up on ebay.

Any hints on HH dolls?

Does anyone else like them as much as I do? I think they are great for this age (5 years old). We got all the books too and she loves looking for Razz (she doesn't know I bought him already and Gwen for her birthday!)

Thanks in advance. I did a search, but didn't come up with much.

Of course is she is good with them I think Jess would be a great Christmas Present (with that super cute tree swing and monkey!)

Hi, and welcome to the board!

At first I wasn't wild at all about the HSH dolls, but I bought them at the Madison Sale and have given my dd age 5, 3 of them so far. I still have Logan in hiding. We have 2 desks, the dress up trunk, castle carrying case, activity board, and all but 2 of the outfits that sold out quickly.

My dd loves them and loves that they bend. I think you made a good move to get what you could on sale.

I also highly recommend the books, they are all great, and have been read many, many times here!

ps...Jess would be a lovely Christmas present! But order her in the fall, before there is a rush on her!

Here's a great tip: The Teen Trends dolls, which you can get in stores and sometimes online are about the same size and structure and the HSH(and cheaper). The TT are 17in and the HSH are 16in. They are not American Girl but they are Mattel.

Anyways, the TT clothes are interchangable with the HSH. You can buy some of the clothes seperately without buying a doll. They also have these little puppies that come in a bag-they would be perfect size for them, too! I have Courtney and she's like the big sis to the rest of the AGs I have(I don't have kids BTW)

Thanks for the tip on Teen trends. I had heard a rumor to that effect, but wasn't sure about it. I had a hard time finding some (target doesn't seem to carry it anymore, but found a few outfits of courtny's at TRU last week.) Not sure if they fit yet. So far Courtny's things were the only ones I felt were approprate for my daughter doll. They are cute, but not the same qauility as AG that is for sure. The HH dolls seem a lot cuter then the TT ones.

So I have all ready for my DD
Hallie
Gwen
2 chairs (one for each doll)
the activitiy board (this is so cool!)
Razz the rabit
hair care kit (just one)
Tooth fairy pillow
all the books and job chart (I love this!)

Haven't bought the ducky bath tub or castle carrier yet. So far we don't have much cothes to carry! I wonder if I should before it is gone. I keep thinking of buying a 2nd hallie doll (3rd really counting the one I got for her cousin) because my younger daughter really likes it, 18 months old. I think I would save it though for when she was older.)

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I actually made up my mind to get her the dark haired twins for Christmas (when big sis gets Jess, it seems only fairl) It has to be the twins because bald babies look funny to me. Both of mine had so much hair when they were born! I figure a 2nd doll wouldn't be a bad idea anyway since her older sister will be interested in it also. My problem with this is I want the bitty bear, and that only seems to come with those bald babies!

My oldest never got a bitty because she was never much of a "baby" baby herself. Her little sis is another story. She LOVES babies! Big sis had a few and has happlier gave thim up for her since I told her I would get the HH dolls as a trade.

Hi, I bought Hallie, the desk and board for my daughter's birthday in September. She will be turning 4. I figure with starting school this will be fun for roll play. She does already have a Bitty and Nellie. Nellie is really more of a friend to her than a doll. She doesn't play with her much but she is informed with all that is new and exciting in my daughter's life. They have conversations for hours! Anyway, what I wanted to tell you is I bought several sewing patterns to make Hopscotch Hill clothes. If you are interested send me your private email and we can chat! ~Christine

I would think you could get Bitty Bear as a replacement part. Call AG Customer service to find out for sure. Gotta say all the Bitty animals are too cute!

btw....Bitty Twin girl can wear Bitty's clothes, (the bodies are exactly the same) if there are any on sale you'd like you could get them now. Sometimes the hats are snug due to the hair, but they're still cute!

We love our Hallie and are huge fans of HSH. The HSH activity board gets by far the most use in our house than anything else we have of HSH. My girls use it for all of their school play at home. I agree with Laurie about the books--they are terrific.

I wish the line had expanded just a wee bit more before they ended it. I'm not crazy about all of the accessories, though. But it is a darling line, just like Angelina Ballerina.
